A little history..

In the early 1920's the matriarch of our family,  Alice Nuel began making pretzels for a small pretzel company in North Philadelphia, called Fetich's Bakery. She worked there for several years learning the art of pretzel making. Her son Willard Nuel Jr. inspired by his mother's hard work and enthusiasm for the soft pretzel business continued the tradition. He began working for a company called Michael's Soft Pretzel Bakery in 1963, and soon became the owner of the company. Along with his two sons, Willard  and Steven they grew their soft pretzel business into an enterprise, serving the Philadelphia Stadium, the Philadelphia Spectrum, the Woodstock Concert in the 1960's and served most of the vendors that could be found on street corners all around Philadelphia. They served up to 30,000 pretzels daily from a small company out of North Philadelphia. The Nuel family is synonymous with the pretzel business. Other competing, soft pretzel company owners once worked for the Nuel family. In 1991, Willard and his wife Kim branched out on their own and opened their first company, called Soft Pretzels Unlimited. They eventually, found a new market outside of Philadelphia and opened up a new location in Hatboro Pa. in 2002. It is now called Philly's Own Soft Pretzel Company since 2007. Our company sells a variety of hand twisted pretzels for a variety of tastes. The Nuel's are now passing their way of life down to their children.
